There are many ways to help a young person move forward. Share your time and abilities through learning activities, practical projects, or the everyday work that supports our mission.
Mentoring begins with listening and understanding a young person’s interests and goals. Depending on your experience and current needs, your contribution could include:

Support study sessions, reading, language practice, digital skills, or creative and recreational activities coordinated by our team.

Lend a hand with gardening, organizing supplies, preparing shared spaces, or maintenance tasks suited to your skills.

Offer expertise in areas such as technology, communications, design, administration, or other services that help St. James carry out its work.

Help prepare an activity, organize materials, welcome participants, or share approved information about the mission.
The dignity, privacy, and well-being of the young people we serve come first. Expressing interest does not guarantee a role or placement. Participation involving young people is subject to review and applicable safeguarding requirements.
A conversation is the first step. Together, we can explore how your interests and experience connect with the needs of the mission.
Share your interests, relevant experience, availability, or the opportunity you have in mind.
Our team will discuss current needs and whether there is a suitable way to contribute.
Before an activity begins, we will clarify the role, expectations, coordination, and any preparation or requirements involved.
